About Us

History

The Finger Lakes Grants Information Center opened in February 2012, as a collaborative effort between the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce and the Stardust Foundation of Central New York.

Mission

Our mission is to create a resource for our local communities to provide the information and tools necessary to attract funding to Auburn and the Finger Lakes region from foundations, federal, state and local governments and other grantmakers.

Location

We are housed in the Cayuga County Chamber of Commerce office at 2 State Street, Auburn, New York. The Grants Center Library is open during regular Chamber hours, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Maps and Parking We are located in downtown Auburn. There is kiosk parking on the street with a two hour limit. If you need more than two hours, we recommend parking in the city garage or in the lot on Dill Street.

Services

The Finger Lakes Grants Information Center maintains a current print collection of resources from the Foundation Center as well as our own collection, on fundraising, grant writing, board governance and other related topics. At this time we are not a lending library but we welcome visitors to our Center.

We are a Funding Information Network partner of the Foundation Center, and provide visitors with unique database access. We have three computers for visitor use and offer wifi for your laptops or IPads. Since desk space is limited, we encourage reservations by calling our office at 315.252.7291 or email us at gkent@cayugacountychamber.com.

In addition, the Finger Lakes Grants Information Center provides a schedule of workshops and events throughout the year on topics including grantseeking, proposal writing, nonprofit board governance, fundraising, and others that are relevant to our mission.
